Help! I'm Struggling to Lose Weight
Are you trying to lose weight but haven’t been able to do it on your own? Find out how a weight loss management program can provide the guidance and support you need.

You’ve tried to lose weight many times on your own. You have success for a while, but then you slip back into old habits and the pounds return. Or, perhaps you give it your all, but you lose little to no weight.

If you think you’re destined to live with the weight forever, think again.

At Phillips Family Medical in DeSoto, Texas, Pamela Phillips, Ph.D., FNP-C, and our team understand the struggles you’re facing. That’s why we’ve designed a weight loss management program for people just like you. Here’s how it works.

What is weight loss management?

Weight loss management typically includes two components. The first component involves dedicating your energies to losing weight.

The second phase is weight management, which includes maintaining your weight once you’ve reached your weight loss goal. Included in both of these phases can also be treating any diseases that are related to being overweight, such as diabetes or high blood pressure.

The goal of a weight loss management program is to help you lose weight in a safe manner, so you can improve your health and position yourself to live the life you’ve dreamed of.

What can I expect?

The reasons people struggle to lose weight can vary, but our weight loss management program helps set you up for success by giving you expert guidance, a specific plan to follow, and accountability. This way, you’re not on your own.

We start with an in-depth evaluation of your current situation. We review your medical history, perform a physical exam, and do bloodwork. Then, based on our findings, we pinpoint the underlying causes of your weight loss struggles.

Again, the causes can vary, but common reasons people struggle to lose weight include hormonal issues, genetics, and stress. But, no matter what’s holding you back, our team will endeavor to find out what it is and develop a plan to help you reach — and maintain — a healthy weight.

Your program will include a diet and exercise plan designed for your circumstances. We may also recommend dietary supplements, bioidentical hormone replacement, or other therapies. And, after you’ve reached your goal weight, we even offer nonsurgical laser liposuction, which can remove stubborn pockets of fat to help refine your appearance.
